Logic Pro Quantisierung Tipps, Teil 2

In the second part of this walk-through of Logic's Advanced Quantization features we're going to have a look at probably the most useful and powerful feature  

Im zweiten Teil dieser Gang durch die Logik der Advanced Quantisierung Funktionen würden Sie einen Blick auf die wohl nützlich und leistungsstarke Funktion haben für die Schaffung von mehr natürlich klingende Quantisierungen. Quantize Strength.


Quantize Strength

Also, Ive ein bisschen Klavier, aber es ist ein bisschen aus der Zeit aufgezeichnet. Seine schrecklichen eigentlich (!), So Im zu haben, um es zu korrigieren.

Eines, was ich nie tun ist quantisieren zu Grids. Stattdessen verwende ich Quantize Strength, um die Noten näher an das Netz zu ziehen. Damit bleibt zumindest eine Ahnung von meiner Leistung und es tut sich wie die Musik von einem Roboter gespielt wurde!

Um diese Funktion nutzen, müssen Sie es auf eine Region (es kippe in der Piano Roll gemacht werden) gelten. Sie tun dies, indem Sie die betreffende Region und die Wahl einer Basis Quantize Wert aus der Drop-Down-Menü. Da alle meine Notizen sind (grob) den 8.-Notenwert Ill wählen '1 / 8-Note '.

Auf diese Weise Ihre Notizen fest quantisiert werden. Gehen Sie zum Advanced-Quantisierung in der Region Parameter ein und klicken Sie auf das Dreieck, um die verborgenen Parameter zu offenbaren.

Hier sehen Sie die "Q-Strength" (kurz für Quantize Strength)-Option. Im Moment seiner in der Standardeinstellung von 100%. Im gehend, es zu 80% sinken.



Now all my notes have been pulled 80% of the way between their original position and the absolute 1/8-note grid position I set. Quantize Strength has a kind of gravitational effect on note events. 

The distance they travel is relative to how out of time they were. The most important thing is they never reach that absolute value and what you’re essentially hearing is (at least) 20% of my original performance.

Here’s the Piano with a Q-Strength of 80%:



If you have to quantize then this is the most natural way to do it. Use your ear to decide how much percentage is enough. If it sounds OK with just 50% then use 50%!

Quantize Strength is also available as an option when using Flex Time with audio. This means you can naturally tighten up a performance just a bit without sucking all the life out of it.



Final Thoughts

Don’t forget that Q-Strength is a global setting:  it affects all the MIDI notes inside the selected region. Next time well look at how we can be a bit more selective in what we actually quantize.
