Thanks for the great article, I love this plugin and have been using it a lot in my work. I've mainly been flipping through the presets till I found a sound I wanted and tweaked it a little. I never fully understood exactly what each parameter was effecting I just tweaked until it sounded good. This article clarified a lot my questions so thanks, I should be able to find the sound I want much faster now.

Thinking about picking this up. Would you say that it's more suited towards compensating for a real bass player, or does it work as effectively for electronic music, specifically with regards to Drum n Bass and the handling of sub/synth bass sounds?

I definitely use it on electronic/virtual bass when I'm mixing for clients, or on my own tracks. When I'm mixing my own tracks in logic, I can even out the bass level by adjusting the MIDI note velocities for sure, but sometimes certain instruments resonate unpredictably when played on different notes. For example I'll be playing the root key bass, then I'll drop to a lower note, (same general velocity), and the bass seems louder and more inconsistent ...this is when I break out BassRider. This can sometimes happen if the space you're in is not perfect (who's is?), so make sure it really is happening by listening on headphones.
