Layercake is a FREE Sound Design Tool for Kontakt

Flintpope is back (was he ever away?) with a new sound design tool for NI Kontakt users... it's free it you like it that way and it's powerful too.

Nick, AKA Flintpope, contacted us with news of his latest incarnation for Native Instruments Kontakt users. And aside from the fact Flintpope sonic tools are no-brainer downloads anyway, he's really stepping up his game with LayerCake.

LAYERCAKE is a powerful tool for creating interesting sound textures, comprised of a set of three samplers with four sounds in each, meticulously crafted to create audio spaces that move beyond the realm of mere pads, leads or basses. You get 16 presets that will get you started on a descent into madness…

Each sampler layer can be manipulated with up to thirteen controls. Add to these Kontakt’s five standard controls of volume, pan, tune, mute and solo and you have eighteen tweakable parameters per sampler. With 12 samples in each LAYERCAKE you have 144 possible combinations of sounds as a starter palette for a musical experiment.

And then you start to add your own audio…

LAYERCAKE ships with a short manual so that even if you have little experience with Kontakt you can start creating your own dense soundscapes. Or even some killer bass if that’s more your style.

You'll need the FREE Kontakt 5 Player (download it here: http://bit.ly/2brOw4h). Note that third-party software (such as this) runs in demo-mode on the free Kontakt Player. Owners of the full version have no such restriction.

LAYERCAKE is available for any price including free

However, if you find it is better than expected why not drop Flintpope a dollar or so? Or you can simply support Flintpope for as little as $1 per month if you wish at https://www.patreon.com/flintpope.

Price: Free / donations welcomed
