Are Vinyl Records About To Go HD?

What could make your vinyl record listening experience better? How about longer play time per record and higher frequency range. That's what Rebeat Digital are planning to create in the near future.

Well here's an interesting concept. Now that vinyl records are still reclaiming space in your favorite record stores, Austrian company Rebeat Digital claims to have a way of making "HD" vinyl. Not only will this increase the frequency range, but also the play time available on every record.

There's precious little info on the Rebeat Digital website. It's been earmarked as a "Coming Soon" feature. We're told that HD records would be copatible with existing record players. But, pressing higher quality vinyl records would demand machines that cut vinyl using lazers. We understand that Rebeat have filed for patents covering this new HD vinyl production process and are currently exploring the space for investors.
