YellowNoise Audio DrumExtract Uses State Of The Art Tech To Separate Drums From A Mix

Extracting percussive content from a mix isn't easy. With most tools it feels impossible. YellowNoise Audio's DrumExtract promises to do a better job than the current crop, and the demo is impressive.

September 2016–DrumExtract is a new innovative tool that allows to extract and separate percussive content (e.g. drums) from an audio mix. Based on recent digital signal processing research, it goes far beyond traditional tools, and allows results that no EQ, compression, or other classical tool could achieve.

DrumExtract is available as a VST plugin. It works with Cubase, Ableton Live, Reaper, FL Studio, Sound Forge, etc.

Audio examples can be found on www.yellownoiseaudio.com. Discover new applications with DrumExtract:

  • Drum learning: listen to the drums of a song, in solo ; useful for drummers to practice and find drum parts of a song... or, listen to the song without drums, allowing the drummer to play on top of it
  • Sampling: sample drum loops or drum elements that you couldn't isolate with traditional tools ! MPC users / hip hop producers may use it to find new unused sampling material !
  • Production learning: discover how great songs' drum tracks are done
  • Mixing: raise or lower the volume of the drums in a mix

Based on years of digital signal processing research and algorithm design, the editor YellowNoiseAudio offers solutions for producers, sound engineers and musicians.
