Watch the Maschine JAM Dual-Touch Smart Strips in Action

Maschine JAM is out in the wild and feedback for this studio and live production sequencer and controller has been positive. One stand out feature is its touch strips which Matt Celliti demonstrates.

On Thursday 29th September Native Instruments released Machine Jam. On the same day we were lucky enough to have product expert Matt Cellitti host a live webinar on Ask.Audio Academy. And some of the tips, tricks and features he showcased were nothing short of awesome.

Matt Cellitti walked us through the hardware and software’s key points. He talked about the differences between the Machine Jam and the Machine Studio. He demoed running Machine Jam controlling Ableton Live. He answered students’ questions along the way!

Some of the highlights were the dual-touch Smart Strips, incredible sounding stock FX, easy Ableton Live integration, inspirational workflow possibilities, and extensive instrument library that comes along with the hardware. The JAM itself was built so that you would never have to leave the gear and can put your mouse away, and Matt showed us how that is accomplished!

This excerpt from the 1-hour MasterClass shows Matt explaining and demonstrating the power of the Smart Strips which can be used to creatively play, strum and trigger instruments, sounds and note.

Of course, you can use them to mix, adjust plug-in parameters and even write automation. But, these sensitive touch strips come into their own when used to play sounds. They end up being more flexible and fun than a traditional piano keyboard.
