Image Line has announced the immediate availability of the FL Studio 20.0.5 update for Mac and PC that has numerous tweaks but most interestingly adds support for the new AKAI Pro FL Studio FIRE, the world's first dedicated hardware FL Studio controller.
Of course you can control FLS with all kind of third party hardware via MIDI but this is the first time the company has partnered up with a hardware developer to make a specialised controller. The benefit of this close collaboration between hardware and software teams is that these kinds of products invariably offer the highest possible level of integration. Here's the lowdown.
Featuring plug-and-play integration, at the heart of FIRE is a 4 x 16 RGB pad matrix. Quickly input patterns on the Step Sequencer or switch over to Performance Mode for live playing and recording of notes and launching patterns. Bringing a tactile, mouse-free mixing solution to the FL Studio environment, Fire includes four banks of four touch-capacitive knobs, enabling the user to instantly see and adjust parameter values. This facilitates a more intuitive workflow, giving the ultimate control over Channel, Mixer and user-assignable parameters.
