Lou Reed (Velvet Underground, Influential Rocker) Dies

One of the most influential rock artists of our time has passed away today. Lou Reed, born in 1942, had recently a liver transplant earlier this year, but the cause of death is uncertain.  

As reported in an article in the Rolling Stone, Lou Reed has passed away at the age of 71. Spanning a career of over 40 years, Lou Reed has left behind a large body of work that has inspired many rock musicians. His most influential and critically lauded work included the album The Velvet Underground & Nico released in 1967 and Transformer (produced by David Bowie in 1972).
