According to a reader of AppleInsider, Logic Pro X will be getting an update early 2017 with support for Apple's new MacBook Pro Touch Bar. It was always going to be a matter of time really, but it's good to know!
Regardless of your impressions when the new Macbook Pro was announced... (yes there was a tepid sense of excitement and a fair few groans too from the creative community) this could improve workflow for Logic Pro X users on Apple's new laptops.
If you're a regular reader of AskAudio, you probably saw our mock up of 5 different ways we hoped to see Apple's MacBook Pro Touch Bar being used with Logic Pro X. Now the dust has settled, there's certainly other commands like "markers", "Tool Menu", Editor windows, etc we'd also love to see on the Touch Bar when using Logic Pro X.
It was Xander Soren, Apple Marketing Executive, who confirmed that Apple are working on Touch Bar support for Logic Pro X. Here's what AppleInsider tell us he wrote about it:
"I'd like to assure you that we are fully committed to Logic Pro X, and we will be bringing Touch Bar support to Logic by early next year."
Interestingly enough, some of the recent updates for Logic Pro X and GarageBand have fallen in mid to late January just around the time of NAMM (the largest trade show and event for the music industry). So, it could well be around NAMM (19th to 22nd January 2016) that we see Logic Pro X users making use of the Touch Bar on their new Macbook Pro's.
