In this course, Dance Music Styles 109: Tech House, expert producer and programmer Multiplier AKA Adam Pollard gets right to the heart of the genre, identifying its constituent parts, how they fit together and how to make them work. In this short video from the course, he shows you how to start by making a basic tech house beat. 

Starting with a classic 4-to-the-floor kick pattern, Adam shows you how to accompany it with snares and hi hats, shifting certain elements very slightly off grid in order to make the beat more interesting. He also reveals how to use sample editing and creative MIDI programming to play with the way that different drum elements are triggered, for a more effective end result.
