Gobbler Marketplace Launches with Exponential Audio

You may be used to buying your software and audio plug-ins and spending lots of money on them. What if you could "rent" high-end plug-ins monthly? Welcome to Gobbler's Marketplace.

JULY 14, 2015 - Gobbler today launches Marketplace, a subscription platform for pro audio plug-ins. Marketplace will revolutionize the way you purchase software and give you access to more tools than ever before.

Gobbler is proud to launch Marketplace with Exponential Audio. All Exponential Audio plug-ins - including the recently released Excalibur multi- effect - are available for subscription in two different bundles, starting today. The Exponential Audio bundles are available at http://bit.ly/ea-market.

“We dreamed up the Gobbler Marketplace to create a simple to use platform so our publishing partners can offer subscriptions to their wonderful plug-ins,” says Gobbler founder and CEO, Chris Kantrowitz. “We have partnered with the best in the world and are honored to have Exponential Audio as our launch partner.”

A veteran DSP designer, Exponential Audio-founder Michael Carnes has earned a reputation for the incredible quality of his reverb and effects plug- ins.

“I'm excited to have been invited into the Gobbler Marketplace,” says Michael Carnes. “I've had many inquiries from potential customers who would be more comfortable with a subscription arrangement. I wanted to wait because we wanted a partnership that reflected Exponential Audio's values. This ensures our users get the best of all worlds, buy outright or pay when you need them. It's nice to be able finally to offer them this option.”

Exponential Audio plug-ins are available in the Gobbler Marketplace starting today, July 14. Subscriptions are available for two bundles: The Stereo Plus bundle ($34.99/month) including PhoenixVerb and R2 in stereo versions, plus Excalibur, and the Super Plus bundle ($54.99/month) including PhoenixVerb and R2 in stereo and surround sound versions, plus Excalibur.

Sorry, there are plenty of GREAT plug-ins to be had without ponying up $35-$50/ month for ONE brand's bundles. Perhaps if this were a rent-to-own subscription model then there would be some value here. But as it stands this is a poor attempt to milk money from consumers who have lots of other options in such a competitive marketplace. Good luck!
