We’re not so secretive about our respect for code:MONO (also known as Rishabh Rajan here at AskAudio and in the Academy). And his latest mashup features an Ableton Push 2, MIDI Fighter 3D and a Livid Instruments Minim.
Watch the video here:
This is a Mashup of the following songs:
- Darren Ashley - Surrender ft. Jupiter 7 & Fatboytony
- It's A Blue World (Darren Ashley Remix)
- Darren Ashley - Question
- Darren Ashley - Shakuhachi
- Darren Ashley - Good Morning
- Darren Ashley - Empire
- Okay - Talitha Tan
- Darren Ashley - Compass
- Rozella - Dark Side
- Darren Ashley - Goodnight
- Sugar Shrill - Blue Ice ft. Darren Ashley
- Wave Racer - World Record
- Wave Racer - Bubble Wrap
we asked code:MONO about his setup and inspiration. Regarding the setup, all the sounds come from a Drum Rack hosted in Ableton Live. The Push 2 is in User mode so he can create those custom LED patterns. The MIDI fighter & Minim are also triggering samples from the same Drum Rack but they have different LED patterns. The Minim runs on bluetooth using an Ableton Remote Script, while the Push & MIDI Fighter are running cabled via USB.
Everything is performed live, except the bank switching on the MIDI Fighter. Rishabh just didn’t have enough time to perform the switch so he programmed it in prior to performing.
The inspiration came from Darren Ashley’s Monday Juice series. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHXUmuUYxXaMPyygcSqylbJLTXxpoe6z0.
Rishabh Rajan used quite a few tracks from that collection and a couple of tracks from Wave Racer, another fantastic Future Bass producer from Australia.
