Behringer OB-Xa: 100 Synths Enter BETA Testing Stage

The Oberheim OB-Xa originally created in th eearly 1980s is making its way into Behringer's synthesizer catalogue. And the first 100 pre-production UB-Xa models are now in BETA testing.

Another exciting synthesizer from Behringer is inching closer and closer to full production. The  UB-XA was originally announced back on 2018. Since then, with some updates on its progress Behringer recently called for Beta testers who own the original Oberheim OB-Xa.

Now, they're ready to push ahead and have produced 100 units for the Beta testing stage.

Here's what Behringer have said:

"We’re now almost ready:-) 100 units have been produced, which will now go to our expert beta testers who all have an original unit for comparison.
Once these synths have passed the in-depth testing procedure, full speed production will commence.

"We know it has taken much longer than we envisioned, but this is such a complex instrument that we wanted the take the time to get it perfect.

"People familiar with electronics know that recreating a legacy synthesizer is much more challenging than developing a modern instrument. Thanks for all your patience and support."
