Backline Rig V3 Brings Live, Playable Guitars To Your Reason Projects

Pop Chords A-List Electric Guitarist brings fully playable, authentic electric guitars to your Reason Rack. Hollin Jones gives you a hands-on demonstration of how it works.

Propellerheads' Backline Rig is now at version 3 and one of the new Rack Extensions it has added to the collection is the awesome Pop Chords A-List Electric Guitarist. This "player" module is sample and MIDI-based but uses clever algorithms to make the electric guitars truly playable, with multiple articulations, playing styles, chords and more available at your fingertips to play from your keyboard. In this short video from the course Reason Rack Extensions 101: Backline Rig V3 - Explored, Reason Expert Hollin Jones shows you how the module works and how to play it in different styles.

Hollin starts by explaining the way the chord phrases, voicings and triggers are mapped out across standard MIDI key ranges (a bit like in Kontakt) and how to play 7ths, diminished and other chord types with just a few key presses. He then looks at the sonic controls and how to change the sound of the guitar and amp, as well as adding effects inside the module. This really is a great solution for bringing live guitars to your Reason projects. Check out the rest of this 60-video course for the lowdown on every single instrument and effect in this mammoth collection!
