Aston Microphones Now Under Music Tribe Umbrella (Alongside Behringer)

In just five years, Aston Mics have created innovative and excellent studio microphones for producers. It'll be interesting to see how they develop now Music Tribe (Behringer) have acquired them.

Two of the audio industry’s most innovative and forward-thinking organisations have united, with manufacturing and distribution giant Music Tribe announcing the acquisition of multi-award winning Aston Microphones, the UK’s only mainstream mic brand.

The new partnership will see Music Tribes add the mic brand to an already impressive pro audio portfolio, while allowing the fast-growing Aston to build more quickly on the momentum their ground breaking and in-demand products have already gained.

Music Tribe’s founder and CEO Uli Behringer commented: “The addition of Aston Microphones now allows Music Tribe to round out our professional install and touring sound offerings alongside Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Turbosound, Tannoy and many other leading brands under the Music Tribe umbrella.
Music Tribe’s Vision is solely based on Customer and Digital Obsession, which means to offer end-to-end Customer solutions. Since the acquisition of Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Tannoy and Turbosound, we have been continuously pursuing a microphone brand that complements the mixing console, processing, amplification and loudspeaker excellence offered by these historic brands. Throughout our search, Aston Microphones has clearly stood out as the ideal match because of their world-class brand, leading innovation and first-class team of people. We will invest heavily in positioning Aston Microphones at the very pinnacle of the industry and the Aston team will now equally have full access to Music Tribe’s extensive resources and advanced automated system platforms in such areas as product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and finance. We are very proud to welcome the Aston team into our family.”

Aston Microphones’ CEO, James Young, responded: “Aston Microphones has been a phenomenal success story since our launch only 5 years ago, with a host of international awards including the coveted NAMM TEC Award for Best Mic 2020. In this time we’ve established our brand as a world leader in innovation, bringing high-end and professional products to our family of Customers – all at affordable prices. The synergy with Music Tribe’s existing brand portfolio is exceptional, and the huge resource in R&D, manufacturing and engineering excellence we now have at our disposal, will allow us, together, to set a bar to which other brands can only aspire. We are honoured to now share our journey with Music Tribe and such talented people.“

The announcement comes as Aston’s latest release has continued the company’s record of disruption within a previously stagnant mic market. Aston Element, ‘The People’s Microphone’, whose sound was crafted by public vote, has astonished reviewers worldwide with its performance-to-price ratio. Each Aston mic to date has established itself as modern-day classic, combining world-class, professional sound and near-indestructible build-quality, with accessible pricing.

The Aston team will continue to operate from their Hertfordshire headquarters, combining their off-the-wall marketing, product development and intimate customer and artist relationships, with Music Tribe’s talent, resources and infrastructure, to herald a new era in the global microphone marketplace.
