99Sounds Releases Vinyl Noise SFX Sample Collection

Vinyl Noise SFX is a free collection of vinyl noise sound effects created by Oregon based DJ and artist Matoto aka Chia. The library contains 37 audio samples in total, featuring a broad arsenal of vinyl record noises.

The sounds were captured from a Numark TTUSB turntable with Numark Groovetool Stylus used as the needle. Many different records were sampled during the process, ranging from 7″ records from the early '70s to a couple of modern 12″ dance records.

The samples are provided in raw form without any post-processing. All samples are available in 16-bit WAV format, with additional SFZ and NKI instrument patches. All recording, editing/cropping, compiling and graphic design done by Chia. Recorded from November 11, 2013 to June 22, 2014.
