Publisher, producer and performer - Steve H certainly knows his way around a synth. Here, he performs live on video his track Droplets Collide, using the Buchla 200e.

In addition to his duties as macProVideo and Ask.Video publisher, Steve H is a highly experienced synth performer and composer whose work has been heard in countless TV shows, and who has collaborated with many other artists over the years. Now, Steve has released a live video of a brand new performance - of his track "Droplets Collide", performed on the Buchla 200e. You can watch the video below, and then read on to find out how Steve approached composing and performing this piece from a technical viewpoint.

Here's what Steve had to say about his performance.

"This live, 3D performance features me, Steve H (aka Stephen Horelick composer of Reading Rainbow), playing the Buchla 200e. These sound gestures and timbres are then processed, sometimes looped and surround panned (using Fibonacci ratios) in Logic Pro X. Of course this is YouTube so this is a stereo mix!

Thanks to Mercy college for providing the space, master recording in Pro Tools and the tech support to make this happen. And thanks, too, to RiverArts for getting me out of my studio to perform my 3D surround compositions!"
